This book went from bad to worse.
Alana is such a shallow person and a nightmare of a girlfriend. She thinks and acts as one of the main mean girls from high school (and she is almost 30!) and is jumping to conclusions like a ping pong ball. She treats Cal like shit and never apologizes for it. She is abusing him verbally and yet playing the victim.
Also, the Wisteria town is a cult - everyone is acting like Alana's white knight and everyone is bullying Cal for the fact that he broke Alana's heart 6 years ago (they broke up without fighting or some sort of physical abuse). I mean, how tf an entire town can hate someone simply for the fact that a guy broke up with a girl fucking 6 years ago?
This book was a mess.
I am very disappointed - I really enjoyed Rowan's and Declan's stories (and their love interest were decent human beings), I feel like the author did Cal dirty. With all his issues, he didn't deserve to be treated like that.
