stories concept is excellent but execution fell flat. when i read this i also feel like the whole beginning and end was cut out and we are only reading the middle.

the story needed more flashbacks in order to showcase the impact keya had on the family's life as well as the pressures that convinced the parents and sister to react to keya's coming out the way that they did. These were mentioned in passing but never really talked about. the book also needed to focus more on keya's gf pamela and her thought processes going into it as well as before everything happened...

we also didn't need the neesh backstory if anything that should've gone to pamela...

also the ending was a total copout...super disappointing.

all and all i really wanted to like this story especially with the whole focus on bengali culture and there aren't very many desi stories like this one but unfortunately this did not hit the mark. :(
