and with that, i've finished the austen big six!!!!! this novel is an incredibly interesting social commentary, and the most different from all her novels, romance and friendship lay on the sideline and politics, religion, modernity and debate take the forefront. there is so much to be said, and i think it's an incredibly clever novel - but one that lacks austen's tone, wit and reality for the sake of these conversations and debate on society.
