This book could’ve benefited from being longer. It takes place over a very short amount of time where I’m supposed to believe two people meet and fall in love. I don’t think it’s even a week since the two main characters meet to him proposing and doing it because he has feelings for her.
I think maybe if Violet had already been in Gris’s household somehow, maybe as an overlooked maid, and then stepped into the role of nanny, or anything that gave them a prior connection, their relationship wouldn’t have felt so rushed.
The story was sweet though, and the prologue made me teary eyed. You really feel for Reynalda.
