First five star read of the year! I absolutely loved this book! The representation was phenomenal. Almost every character here was queer and some of them were even non-monogamous. It was honestly really great to see.
I loved the story line and plot. It was so cute and interesting and honestly different from a typical rom-com where she would have fallen for the guy she was planning to fake marry. I loved the new direction the author took.  It made everything feel fresh and not overly played out. Even the troupes she did incorporate, like the one-bed troupe, felt new simply because she wasn't falling for her fake-dater.
I also loved all of the relationship developments in this book. The found family Ellie made in Andrew's family, as well as Andrew and Jack themselves, and her friends. I'm always a sucker for found family troupes and I think this one was done really well and was necessary to her growth and development.
Speaking of, I was so happy that Ellie finally had the courage to stand up to her mom and set boundaries even if that meant cutting her off. I was honestly dancing around when I got to that part just like Meredith was. And Ellie learned how to accept new people into her life and let her walls fall down for them. It was actually really great growth to see all around for her. And even Jack had some growth in her confidence in herself with the bakery and it was so good to see that too.
Finally, I have to talk about the actual romance. Oh what can I even say? It was cute, sexy, funny, embarrassing, emotional, and just all around fantastic. I loved Ellie and Jack so much. The flashback scenes were so good and I loved that we also got plenty of scenes with them in the present and it didn't rely only on the flashbacks to create their romance. These two made me so happy and I loved every second of it.
If you're looking for a Christmas-y sapphic rom-com, this one should definitely be at the top of your list.
