Mad Honey
by Jennifer Finney Boylan, Jodi Picoult
This book discusses the life of a transgender woman. Throughout the book you will hear from fierce allies, people who don’t understand what it means to be trans but they want to learn more, as well as from people who are against trans individuals and believe they should remain their assigned gender at birth. The author does a good job exploring all points of view. The transgender woman in this book is strong in her identity as a woman, as if she were assigned female at birth.
The author goes into a deep dive about the knowledge of bees. I learned so much about bees due to this book.
A large portion of this book involves a court case of a murder trial, so be mindful if that is a content warning for you.
