A Rulebook for Restless Rogues by Jess Everlee
4.25
A good one to start off the new year, I liked this a lot. Very cat Sebastian vibes. Great characters, with rich back stories. It felt cozy despite the high stakes. On which-- I knew everything would work out for these two, but I did think at times about the tragic, more realistic version of this. Maybe because of how grounded in reality it was. I enjoyed the emphasis on how these queer people were finding a way to have an authentic enough life in a hostile time. But that life seemed fragile and like the events of this book would realistically be enough that they would be screwed. But I'm meandering. I liked Noah and Davy and Noah's family and the flashbacks and the sex scenes were well done. I don't remember much of the first book, other than liking it, but I liked this one so much that I want to go back for a reread.
