The Hidden One by Linda Castillo

3.0

Following Kate's journey as she returns to Amish country, straddling the English and Amish cultures as she investigates crime has been interesting. There were a few times when the "you need to go back and read the previous books for backstory" got too heavy-handed, and there was repetition that felt very unnecessary. Having said that, moving her out of her comfort zone of Painters Mills to the Kishacoquillas Valley was a great move. If only the differences in Amish traditions and subsects had been explained in greater detail.
