Mr. Malcolm's LIst by Suzanne Allain

Did not finish book. Stopped at 18%.
After reading Jane Austen, this felt fake and shallow.  The author really tried, but the language just isn’t authentic the way it is when you read a book from that period.  Worse (for me), the characters behave more like modern rom-com personalities.  Selena falls for Malcolm because he’s “beautiful” and can’t stop talking about it.  The moral foundation of Austen is missing, and I got frustrated and quit about 20% in.
