The Girl with a Clock for a Heart by Peter Swanson

3.0

The Story follows middle aged George Foss who, since college has thought about nothing else but his college girlfriend Liana Dector who faked her identity and disappeared. One day she unexpectedly turns up in a local bar asking for his help and George just cant refuse; sending his life into unexpected twists and turns.

"The Girl With A Clock For A Heart" first attracted me with its intriguing short blurb and the talk of an exciting twist in the story. I however was greatly disappointed. After recently reading Mary Kubica's "Good Girl" which I thoroughly enjoyed I was in the mood for another thought provoking thriller and picked this book up at a cheap price at my local supermarket. The story-line was gripping and the mysterious Liana and her tumultuous past interested me. In spite of this I gave the book 3 stars mainly down to the ending. As I explained there are a lot of reviews suggesting an unpredictable twist which meant throughout the story I was continually trying to think up what the possible twist could involve. Without giving a spoiler, i'll just say that the supposed 'twist' was greatly disappointing. Leaving me feeling slightly empty.

I definitely suggest giving this book a read, it's an easy reading thriller however try to go into the story without any preconceptions.
