The Sleeper and the Spindle by Neil Gaiman

4.0

An absolutely splendid merging of Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, with a twist that is refreshingly feminist, sapphic, and empowering––all told in the classic lilt and poetry of the most traditional tales (especially when read by Neil himself with his storyteller’s voice). This is a bedtime story with a dark glow that is as frightening and tragic as true fairy tales are.
