For the Boys
by Amanda Chaperon
DNF @ 25%
I was genuinely excited to read this book, so I'm really bummed to move this one to the DNF pile. I love a hockey romance and was excited to read one set in my home state, that also mentions my alma mater.
I want to caution anyone who is particularly sensitive to getting roofied/drugged and sexual assault about reading this book, as both events occur in the first 20% of the book. The use of these events as plot devices ended up being too triggering for me to continue.
My own experience with being roofied and thusly assaulted makes the author's casual discussion and use of these topics very difficult to handle.
It is my opinion that these topics shouldn't be used casually as plot devices or "meet-cutes."
