How to Walk Away by Katherine Center

5.0

I was first recommended this book by a friend of mine who loved this one, and honestly, on first glance and read of the synopsis, I totally thought this book would just be some sappy romance story. Oh man, did I misjudge that one!

This book and story was absolutely beautiful and had me tearing up several times throughout the read. It was so heart wrenching to read Margaret's story and the life decisions and choices she had to make, but in the end I absolutely loved her and the strength of her character. This book could have me laughing, crying, and swooning over Ian, all in a matter of a few pages. While the particular situation Margaret was in, is not an every day thing most people experience, I still appreciated how real and relatable the story felt on so many other levels. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and loved the messages of determination and self preservation that this book touched on.
