If you don't like Jurassic Park are you even a millennial?

I still remember watching the movie for the first time - in a dark room with my cousins, the blue glow of a CRT TV, the drums of the film score entering my ears, my five-year-old-mind about to be blown.

It's so good. And, I think like a lot of millennial bookworms, I tried reading the JP book as a kid, teen, young adult and just never got into it. Too technical, too science-y, not enough dinos at the beginning.

But now? Now was the perfect time for me to read this book and, let me tell you, it blew my 32-year-old-mind.

I made a lot of audible gasps, I cried, I highlighted whole paragraphs and entire pages. This was A THRILLING ADVENTURE, and it's the best book I've read this year. I WILL be reading it again.

However. If you aren't a big JP or science fiction fan, stay away. It does get technical, there are some science-y and moral tangents that slow the pace way down at times. Also, there are some disappointments - especially if you're a big Dr. Satler fan like me.

BUT it also gave me a huge appreciation for how well the movie adaptation was done. This book is so dense and the film changes make so much sense considering they were making one of the best action adventure movies ever!
