The Secret History by Donna Tartt

5.0

I am such a sucker for school stories, so before I started reading I knew it would be my cup of tea. And I was so right. How do I even begin with this book? Donna Tartt's writing is so incredible and descriptive without going overboard or seeming cliche. All the characters were extremely flawed but fleshed out (I do have some critiques about the women in this story however). I'm just amazed at how Tartt can make the most mundane scenes interesting. It was gripping until the very end. I saw a few reviews concerning the ending and not liking it, but I think it fit well. But that's all opinion, of course!
