Get a box of tissues. And another one. And make sure that you have someone to give you a big hug afterward. How Backman can so poignantly capture the human experience is beyond me. I was not at all prepared for the depth of this novella. Read it. It will bring you a whole new depth of empathy. It will break your heart and rebuild it bigger.
