Singh provides enough information for first-time readers, and she uses Memory to fill in any gaps while staying on track with the plot. This book can stand alone and still be enjoyed. However, reading it from the beginning will give you a complete understanding of the world-building Singh has created.

Overall, Wolf Rain is an enjoyable weekend read for fans of paranormal fantasy.
