Honestly, I did not expect to like this novel that much when I first picked it up. For me, this was my first official introduction to the Lion as a character as I have not yet read any of the Horus Heresy books.

But what can I say, this was a low stakes, fun read which explores the Lions character and his relationship with his "fallen" sons.
The story is explored both through the Lions PoV as well as Zabriels, one of the Fallen.

I listened to the Audiobook version which was narrated by Timothy Watson who did a great job and has a pleasant voice to listen to.
