I don’t really tend to write long reviews, I like to share a few thoughts on the story and writing and then let the book speak for itself as a person reads it. I won’t be changing that here, but I am tempted, there’s so much to say about Nelson Mandela and this book. I can’t express enough my frustration with my educational upbringing and the near complete ignorance surrounding Mandela and his life. I was raised being told that he was a trouble maker and commie(obviously I lived in a small town). But, reading this book and learning more about his life change that perception so much. I’m saddened that it took me so long to learn the truth, but I’m glad that I did and I recommend that everyone do the same.
