The Elements of Style by William Strunk Jr., E.B. White

3.0

Half of this book is completely worthwhile, the other half I would use with a grain of salt. As a fiction writer, I find most of what Strunk and White teach to be too technical and rigid. When writing fiction, a lot of grammar and its usage is situational rather than exact. I would be more likely to refer to this book if I were writing a research paper or a business letter, rather than creative fiction, although it is handy to have lying on my desk if I have a quick question. The book is small and easy to navigate.
