The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America by Erik Larson

3.0

3.5 stars. I went in expecting a true crime book, but instead got a really well researched history book. The combining of the two narratives made for an interesting read, though the audiobook suffered from a cadence problem. I’ve been finding that non-fiction audiobooks are being read as if they are fiction, and thats a bit distracting. I highly recommend this if you’re interested in the Gilded Era though!
