The Sad Ghost Club by Lize Meddings
4.0

“for anyone who has ever felt like a sad ghost”

Anxiety and depression are depicted in the everyday life of Sam (SG) who just wants to fit in and do well at school. When SG works up the courage to go to a party, they instantly regret it. Until they meet another sad ghost named Socks. They leave the party to go to SG’s favourite spot where they talk all night. SG and Socks share their anxieties and discover they are kindred spirits.

I absolutely adored this gorgeous graphic novel. The illustrations are just beautiful and the story really hits home. Meddings uses ghosts as a metaphor for feeling invisible and through her characters, shows the relatable feelings of anxiety in everyday life.

This graphic novel is perfect for anyone who sometimes feels like they’re a sad ghost.

Thank you to Hachette for sending me this one in exchange for an honest review.
