It's sad when a story has potential, when you wish for it to better than the previous books in the series bc this series' first 2 books with Malcolm and Rachel were amazing. The writing was good.
But here and the past books in this series has been disappointing. Although I like the characters, too many things are off.

Here, our heroine was quite flat. Not exciting and a tad boring.
The hero, Cullen, he was mysterious to begin with, it was nice seeing that he had had some interest in her, and it wasn't totally insta-love. I don't have anything against insta-love, it can just be too much and too sappy. So the heroine, Wynn flies to Vegas the the gambler, some nice conversations, but the dialogues weren't complete all the time and it also fell flat with me.

I don't know what causes my dislike, I see some reviews that adore the book.
I won't quit Katy Evans bc I looooved Malcolm and Rachel's book and absolutely LOVED the white house books. Hopefully this will change.
