Some Sort of Crazy by Melanie Harlow
5.0

For all of us who are Natalie's at heart - comfortable, responsible, life all planned out and won't deviate from that plan types - this is a must read. I could not put this book down. And I even highlighted a quote from here that I want to get as a possible tattoo.
"I don't want to end up simply having visited this world."

I love that reminder to be more bold, brave, and spontaneous; to actually experience life.
Natalie is bored with her responsible, adult life, and she just doesn't know it yet. After Natalie breaks up with her long-term boyfriend, her childhood best friend, a fun loving man-child, comes back into town at the exact right moment she needs him to shake up her life. I am always a sucker for a woman upgrading and glowing up immediately after a breakup. And Miles Haas is one hell of an upgrade. I mean, you can't really downgrade from someone you compare to sweatpants, can you?
Spoiler“So was Dan boring in bed or what?” I sighed. “I don’t know.” “You don’t know?” I tried to think of a way to explain it. “Well, you know how you have a favorite pair of sweat pants or something, and they’re really comfortable and feel good every time you put them on?” “Uh, I guess so.” “Well, sex with Dan was sort of like that.” “Like sweat pants?” “Yeah, you know—something comfortable and familiar that feels good. Does that make sense?” “I guess so, but if any woman ever said sex with me was like sweat pants, I’d fucking shoot myself.”

And you stayed with him for ten years girl?

But Miles knows exactly what she needs, and immediately spices up her life. And to all the people saying she jumped into it too soon with Miles, A) they've known each other and had feelings for each other for 20 years, and B) her and Dan had been emotionally over for a loooong while; neither of them just wanted to admit it.
Miles is such a cute character. And I LOVED his POV chapters. They were just so hilarious and a breath of fresh air. Melanie is the queen at interjecting humor at just the right time. And seeing how he reacts to realizing he has Feelings - yes capital F Feelings - for Natalie was so cute.
