Cyberpunk 2077: No Coincidence by Rafał Kosik

4.0

I thank Netgalley and Orbit with allowing me to read this ARC.

I loved Cyberpunk and playing around in Night City. It was one of my favorite games in a long time. I was excited to see that there were books and comics based in Night City even if a little skeptical in how the game could translate to book.

This book is not for a casual reader. There are language, background, and world building that if you hadn't played the game or watched the anime you would be somewhat lost. There is no explanation given for the gangs or locations or language used so can be confusing. The story goes from 0 to 100 from the get go much like the game itself.

The multi-POV was a little much for me. They changed rapidly and sometimes it could be hard to tell who were reading about at first. Each character though was unique and their personalities shown through the writing. The plot has twists and turns that felt right out the game itself. Reading this novel was just like playing the game all over again.

I give this a 4 out of 5 stars. It was fast paced and a fun read. I recommend this for anyone who loved the game or the anime. I will definitely be buying a copy of this when it comes out.
