Vamplayers by Rusty Fischer

1.0

Are we reading the same book? Because this was just awful.

First off, where is the background? In the beginning, when the vamps kill her mom, it seems like vampires are "out" because she knows what they are, just wonders why they're in the sun (which is never explained). But later, it's apparent that vamps aren't "out." Next, there's two types of vampires...the good guys and the vamplayers (which is the dumbest name I've EVER heard), but why? What makes you one or the other?

*SPOILERS*

Lily is a dumbass. Her friends seem to be literally changing before her eyes (anemic-like behavior, longer fangs, etc), but she doesn't realize that someone is evidently changing them? And that goes back to the background, there are literally two separate species of vampires? What? Then there's the Tristan thing, which she hold on to for WAY too long despite all the evidence to the contrary. What an idiot.

Then there's the ending. I was even on board with the ending with Zander etc, but suddenly there's something between her and Tristan? What? When did that happen? She hung out with him for about 5 minutes pre vamp reveal and once she confronted him, he really turned into a giant asshole/baby. When was there something between them? And why is she even contemplating being with him instead. Plus, the Cara and Alice thing. I mean, Bianca's a bitch, but she has a personality that seems to be her own. So why then are Cara and Alice's turn around forgiven like they were under some spell or something?

Please. For the love of Bram Stoker, don't read this book.
