This is the third book about the Navy S.E.A.Ls that I've recently read and by far my favorite. Luttrell's story of perseverance in the face of great odds is inspiring.
The first half of the book moves slowly- setting the backdrop of the story. He tells of his extensive training and teamwork indoctrination. Years later in the Hindu Kush, Luttrell's training was put to the ultimate test. He had to learn how to survive on his own- without his team. The second half of the book is about the tragedy of Operation Redwing where Luttrell is the only survivor.
His story is frustrating, heartbreaking and inspiring. Another solid read that makes me thankful there are men out there doing their jobs, protecting us, with bravery and valor.
