After already catching up with this series, I thought I knew what to expect from Racing Savannah, and I was pleasantly surprised at how different, but similar it was to the series. Racing Savannah is more focused on horse racing, and how Savannah is dealing with her families move, and less about the religious aspect that has been portrayed in the previous two books.
Savannah has just moved with her Dad and his girlfriend, not only has she left her home, but also her job, and she now finds herself wanting a new job helping her father. Her interest is initially rebuked, but after a swifty save of an escaping horses, Savannah finds herself under scrutiny during a test to prove her worth to the job. Jack is the owners son, and is a relentless flirt with girls, this comes as no surprise as he hits on Savannah when he first meets her, but after realising who she is he quickly changes his mind.
Racing Savannah was another quick read, and I enjoyed this one so much more than the previous books. I love how we get to catch up with old faces, Parker and Will, Sam and Jordan, Kate and Matt, and I especially like how there are little connections throughout the books, Rory, Savannah's friend is Wills brother. I am also glad I read them in publication order, even though these are companion books, as it would have spoilt the previous books for me.
I really admire Savannah for her bravery, her perseverance, and her ability to carry on regardless of what is thrown in her face. To go through what she has gone through, from the problems in her family life, to problems with work, I have no idea how she did it, and I for one would have been walking out of the door.
The chemistry between Savannah and Jack was scorching at some points, and part of me wanted to give them a little push in the right direction, while the other part of me wanted Savannah to just hold back a bit, so when she has to make a decision I was glad to see it was the right one.
Final Verdict
Racing Savannah has to be my favourite so far, and I am looking forward to seeing what comes next in the next installment.
