Thinner by Richard Bachman

i have so many things to say, but i don’t know if they will be very cohesive. 1, if I didn’t know it was Stephen I don’t think I would have guessed; he did a good job of coming up with a new style for Richard. 2, midway through it was feeling vaguely like a rape-revenge film (without the rape) - i don’t want to elaborate in case of spoilers, but it was an interesting parallel. 3, at first i was just enjoying the creepy imagery and there weren’t that many outright scares, but it gets there. it certainly gets there. and the ending is the closest it gets to classic King horror. 4, on the whole, it’s not one of my favorites, but it is quite good. i would definitely recommend if you’re a fan of Stephen but looking for something just a bit different. and it will definitely stick with me for awhile.
