Dark Harvest by Norman Partridge
4.0
Step one: read in a world-weary, Southern twang of an accent.
Step two: remember this isn't what it seems and enjoy the journey.
Dark Harvest is a very quick read, which had some delightful and unexpected twists. I went into it expecting a hokey horror story, and instead recieved a disturbing coming-of-age story with a much more frightening horror than a pumpkin-headed scarecrow monster. Perfect to read in a single sitting on an October night.
