I read this (and the rest of the trilogy) for the first time when I was around 11/12 and loved it. After reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes for the first time last year, I decided to start rereading the original trilogy, especially when I found out there was a new book coming.
Despite being familiar with the story, I greatly enjoyed reading this. We really get to see how Katniss thinks and reasons, how calculating she has/tries to be, to survive.
The story is tense and dark, and I regularly took a short pause while reading to stare into the abyss and contemplate how messed up all of it is.
It's a great book. I'm happy to have reread it and I can see myself rereading it again in the future.
