I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore

1.0

At first it was little things like, "Why would anyone send an alien kid to school? Just homeschool." And "Why is he using telekinesis to open a lock when he has super strength?" Then it got worse from there.

I found myself rolling my eyes at the writing and at the terrible reading (Why does Sarah sound like a blabbering idiot even when her lines are serious? Voice actor, please stop doing women). How many times did James Frey write the line "a million little pieces?" Was that just for his own ego and amusement? How many times are these characters going to make stupid decisions (hey Henri! go investigate this magazine that wrote about the deadly aliens and get yourself kidnapped) that do nothing but let the plot wind up at it's inevitable conclusion?

How does he not notice his dog is apparently able to keep up with 60mph? Why is each friend he has become a deus ex machina in the last fight? Why doesn't he want to open the letter and the chest that Henri told him will reveal all secrets? He's in a war and he doesn't think intel is important??? Why is there so much concentration on Sarah's got damn lip balm and how it tastes? Gawd, this book was awful.
