What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher

I already knew that fungi were all around us and I always thought, “That’s a little weird to know but, also, kind of cool.”
But after this reading this, the thought makes my skin crawl a bit.
While it wasn’t scary (to me), What Moves the Dead was most certainly disturbing. And utterly gothic- which I loved. The tone, atmosphere, mood, etc we’re all so perfectly gothic.
I read Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher, and while it was enjoyable, I honestly liked Kingfisher’s retelling better! A marvelous job, indeed.
