Beauty of the Broken by Tawni Waters
3.0
I feel as though this book is mostly just shock value. There's no actual growth to any of the characters. It fades off into the sunset, just like every character in the book. It's wishy-washy and silent where it should have been loud. I can't say I didn't like this book, since I got all the way through it, but the plot could have been more developed. The characters do feel real, just not fully fleshed out.
There were a lot of things that could have been done better, but it was interesting and had such lyrical language that even without the plot, it was beautiful to read, even though it's slightly traumatic.
In conclusion, it could have been better, but it certainly wasn't bad.
