The Demon-Haunted World
by Carl Sagan
He makes a lot of valid points that are still incredibly relevant today (e.g. the importance of critical thinking, the value of education) but this book is still a) very dated, and b) just not an enjoyable read imo. I share a lot of his views re: the wonder and value of science and the universe but there’s an air of ‘I’m better than you because I believe this and you believe that’ to some of the writing that's off-putting.
I enjoyed Cosmos so much more and if you’re looking to venture into the works of Sagan, I would highly recommend starting there instead.
