This book started so slowly, I almost DNF’ed it. By 45% though, it picked up, and I’m glad I finished it!
My main problems with this book were some of the tropes that I don’t like, like insta love (War calls her wife upon meeting her, in the first 5 chapters) and pregnancy . It should also be mentioned that there were many similarities plot wise between War and Pestilence’s books. The two FMC in both books have similar personalities and say similar things. I found it a little annoying when the FMC in this book would say things like “Holy balls” in a life or death situation , it didn’t feel believable.
With that being said, the relationship between War and Miriam is different enough from Pestilence and Sara that it doesn’t feel like an exact copy of the book. Overall, I would recommend this to someone who wants to read the 4 Horseman series, but I do not think it will be my favorite book from the series.
