This is the rare animal... a Kindle First book that I really loved!  This book jumps between 1850's and recent years as you learn the story of Whitaker House, a one-time stop on the underground railroad and now a vacation rental home continue to share it's history with it's guests.  In 1850 a woman and her newborn child died here and their spirits never left.  The house tends to attract Black women trying to find their connection to their ancestors but it  tends to deliver a lot more. I would call it a paranormal historical fiction.  The spooky factor is real! Make sure to read the author's note at the end. It really makes you stop and think about the underlying issues addressed in the book as well.
