The circumstances in which this story was written are incredible, and it's amazing to me to read the words of someone telling a fictional story in what for them was a contemporary setting. The various people this story follows are all interesting, and I found this sliver of perspective to be breathtaking. Especially when read in context of what happened to the author which I think should be considered when approaching this book.
