Torak en Wolf: De verbroken eed by Michelle Paver

4.0

How can a story about a young boy and his wolf become so dark?
Why do they build up strong and loveable characters, to kill them anyway?!

The previous book so our hero Torak at his lowest point. This time, we see him at his darkest point yet. When one of his friends dies (which he thinks is his fault), Torak goes on a quest for revenge.
Wolf and Renn don't even matter to him anymore. All he can think of is kill the one person who killed his friend...
Damn Torak... You turned from a young and innocent boy, into a vengeful avenger!

The antagonist of the story should have been a real badass in strength, but unfortunately he didn't show it very much. But luckily he handled as smart as all the Soul Eaters did before him.
There was only one thing that bothered me a lot...
Where the hell is Wolf? I thought his presence in this story was too little. I really hoped he would join Torak in the fights, but instead he handled in (sometimes) in the background to help him.
Plus, the heartbreaking moment when Wolf discovers Torak actually isn't a real wolf like he is...

A real heartbreaking story... Until you read the final chapter.
I don't know the right words to describe it without spoiling it. But is was so beautiful. It almost had me in tears... So, maybe this GIF can give you a hint.
