Cinder by Marissa Meyer

4.0

So...Cinder as a cyborg. Totally off kilter, but a fun book to listen to on the way to and from work. I wasn't really expecting to like this as much as I did but the audiobook had me engaged from the beginning.

Yes, it's a twist of a favorite fairy tale, and an interesting one to boot. You come to adore Cinder in so many ways. It's a cruel twist of fate that she's living with her guardian, Adri, who makes her work all day long as a mechanic. She is made fun of and mocked by the community for being a cyborg, and then...she meets the prince. Ahhhhhh.

Definitely enough differences from the Disney version to keep you reading (or listening), and definitely enough that I want to keep reading more books in the series!
