This is a six star read for me! Morrisons, beautiful pros and colorful language juxtaposed with the brutality of the world, and the trauma of its effects is a stunning combination that I can’t look away from. There were times that I would read a few pages and feel the need to close the book and sit with what I’ve read, an exciting narrative with historical fiction and horror combined although the time jumps and long chapters can be jarring for some for me the journey was worth it. The book explored mother, daughter, relationships, and generational trauma in a unique way it also explore general rules and forgiveness. There are moments in this book that are truly dark , but in the end, there is something hopeful how do we confront the things that haunt us?
