A Great Reckoning
by Louise Penny
I suspect that this will prove one of the bridges in the series, one of those volumes that is more valuable in laying the foundation to the future ones than on its own. As always, I adored the humaneness of the book. It’s such a breath of fresh air. I also love love love the introduction of the cadets. Gamache’s role as a mentor and a father figure always fascinates me. The crime solving part in my opinion hasn’t been the best in the series though. It felt a bit forced. All the same, it was as superb an experience as ever. I can’t get enough of this series and really need to control myself not to listen to all books in one go.
