Excellent telling of one possibility for the life and death of Shakespeare’s young son. I like how the prose matches the time period while still being very readable. I was struck that I didn’t notice until the end that Shakespeare’s name was never mentioned. He was the tutor, the husband, the father, bit never Bill or William. I didn’t notice that until nearly the end because it was so well done, adding a feeling of his absence. Highly recommended
