Great novella
I’m quickly falling for this series, and I haven’t even read the first novel yet! In the DarkRiver leopard pack, Emmet is one of the soldiers as well as an engineer for DarkRiver Construction. One day, he and Dorian come across Ria and help rescue her (she already had fought back) from an attempted rape, and from that moment Emmet realizes she’s his mate. What follows is Emmet and the DarkRiver pack working to eliminate the threat posed to San Francisco by Vincent’s Crew and keep Ria and her family safe when she got away from one of their underlings that first time.
Sometimes I did feel the pacing was a little fast and things felt rather abrupt, but overall I still really enjoyed this and I love getting to know all the members of DarkRiver. There was a throwaway homomisic comment made that jerked me out of the story, but I’m still really excited to see more of this universe!
