This fourth Percy Jackson book is pretty darned good. The main characters felt familiar and beloved and the recurring characters are interesting. I have gone from being annoyed by Tyson to enjoying his part in this. Nico continues to be fascinating. Rachel has also grown on me.

The conceit of this book being about Minos’ labyrinth and its ability to allow fast travel with the use of Adriane’s string was one I loved. Similarly, Daedalus was an interesting figure to introduce
and then remove

One of my few complaints about this book is about how this is Annabeth’s quest but she is almost sidelined in this book. It’s much more intensely about Nico and other figures.

Can’t wait to read book five!
