Mortal Danger
by Eileen Wilks
The world Eileen Wilkes has created unfolds to greater complexity in this, the second book in this series. Sadly for me it wasn't as good as the first one but still very worth the read. This book had quite an intricate plot line and ended very unexpectedly - which was a surprise in a genre that's usually very predictable. It was one of those books that split into two threads and I loved one but didn't care for the other. The reasoning behind the two threads was fascinating and unique, but in practice, I just kept wishing it would go back to the thread I liked. It is the 2nd in the series so don't pick it up if you haven't read the first or you will never make it through. By the end I would say I get most of it but it is still a bit fuzzy. I am hoping as the series goes on there will be a reason for having to put the characters through this book but we shall see.
