The Midwife: A Memoir of Birth, Joy, and Hard Times by Jennifer Worth
5.0
I watched the first few episodes of the show and then immediately pulled this series from the library.
First of all, the show tweaks some things but overall is shockingly accurate to its source material. Some of the episode plots that I thought no, surely they made this up for the TV drama, are ripped directly from the pages of Worth's memoir.
Some SHENANIGANS were happening in the East End, and I never for a moment lost interest across all three of these books. Honestly I still wish there were more.
