This book had all the components that I love and the execution was perfect.
It's a sci-fi arranged marriage story that explores past trauma and moving forward with a complex political plot complicating the matter.
I loved both Jainan and Kiem and how their extremely different personalities matched together so well.
Also I found the way the book portray gender very refreshing, especially the variety of expression across in-universe cultures.
