This novel was beautiful and haunting from start to finish. It is a moving story and allows the reader to explore many different perspectives around immigration and the plight of refugees. I also loved how the one fantastical element allows the author to focus on what happens at the end of the journey (or the beginning of their life outside of their home country), rather than the journey itself.
