This was a mostly enjoyable and easy read. I loved this series as a child, so it was really fun to return to it.
The blatant fatphobia throughout really brought the book down though. Using fatness tocode for evil, corruption, and overindulgence with the mayor's character was really fucked up and violent. I know it is a common trope in media and popular culture, but that doesn't excuse it.
